Την Πέμπτη 10 Μαϊου 2012 έγινε η τελετή παράδοσης της ολυμπιακής φλόγας από τον ιερό χώρο της αρχαίας Ολυμπίας για τους ολυμπιακούς αγώνες στο Λονδίνο.
